Name: Rain Precipitation Sensing

Text: The Station Module of the PlanCTTM System must be capable of monitoring the daily rain precipitation (mm/day) and the rainfall intensity (mm/h).

Required technical parameters:
  • Stock temperature: > -40 Grad Celsius .. < +125 Grad Celsius
  • Operating temperature: > +2 Grad Celsius .. < +85 Grad Celsius
  • Measurement range: from 0,1 mm/h to 400 mm/h
  • Maximal mass: 500g
  • Standard deviation error: max 15 %
  • Accuracy: standard deviation error: max. 5 % of the measured value
  • Resolution (in case of digitalized output): min 10 bit

Rationale: These measured parameters serve as inputs for the Decision Support Module and the user may also be interested in real time precipitation data.

Verification/Validation Method: Multiple sensors shall report the almost same precipitation value when the same amount of pure water is poured into the collecting chambers with controlled flow rate. A well-elaborated, finalised test case will be available in the ATS/ATP (pls. insert into the <i>Glossary</i>)
